Look for a virtual summer reading packet in your student’s Google Classroom with links for book lists, reading logs, and other resources. With virtual learning in place for the past several months, it is more important than ever that your child read over the summer to prevent summer learning loss.

Research has shown that the best predictor of reading achievement is the amount of time spent reading. The more time a child spends reading, the better reader they become. So reading to them, reading with them, and giving them opportunities for more reading are some of the best ways you can support your child’s academic success.
