The New Britain High School Class of 2020 will hold four identical graduation ceremonies on July 30 and 31. The class will include more than 500 seniors from NBHS, the NBHS Satellite Careers Academy (SCA), and Brookside School.

We know that you may have numerous questions regarding the ceremony and how it will take place. Below, you will find the most commonly asked questions. If you still have questions after reading what is below, please email Matt Cannata, CSDNB Safety and Communications Manager, at cannatam@csdnb.org. Additionally, you can view our news release, which includes other details.

When will I receive my grad bag, which will contain my cap and gown?
The final days for picking up your Grad Bag will be Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30th from 8 to 10 AM and again from 12 to 2 PM. The Pickup will take place in front of the auditorium entrance.

Please bring your school ID or a photo ID to pick up your bags. This is very important. Those that will be taking summer school credits to finish up will have their bags held until they finish their requirements in summer school. Also, if you haven’t paid for your cap and gown as of yet, you will need to bring $30 cash to receive your cap and gown.

Will social distancing guidelines be enforced?
All attendees are asked to maintain proper social distancing guidelines, as outlined by the State of Connecticut and the CDC. There will also be signs throughout the parking lot to remind everyone of these standards.

Is there a chance any of this might change?
CSDNB will continue to monitor updates from Governor Lamont’s Office and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and will make any changes as deemed necessary. NBHS administration will continue to work with CSDNB health officials and the City of New Britain Health Department to ensure that all safety precautions are implemented and followed throughout the event.
