DiLoreto Lottery and Dos en Uno Application Information

DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School will launch its annual lottery application process this month. All incoming elementary and middle school students are eligible to apply. Applications for the DiLoreto lottery and the Dos en Uno dual language program will be available on Parent Portal until March 1, 2023.

Why DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School?
DiLoreto has a diverse and multicultural history that promotes academic learning in both Spanish and English for our learners. We have two programs that run at Diloreto, our Dual Language Immersion Program in Spanish and our Spanish Language Development Program. The goal of both of these programs is to promote cultural diversity, equity, and multilingualism. Both programs celebrate the idea that knowing a second language is an asset in many ways.
This will be an exciting and enriching new year in a family-oriented school environment. Our vision is “Excellence for All” because we believe that all of our student ambassadors can achieve high levels of success. We boast about serving a sound education to approximately 840 students in grades K-8.

Spanish Language Development Program
Our Spanish Language Development Program provides the day’s instruction in English, with a regular period of Spanish instruction for enrichment. Spanish will be taken as a class during Academic Arts. This program is available for students entering Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Dos en Uno Dual Language Immersion Program
Incoming kindergarten students are also eligible to apply for the Dos en Uno program. An informational session on the ‘Dos en Uno’ program will be virtual Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 7:00 PM. REGISTER FOR THE INFORMATIONAL SESSION HERE. The Dos en Uno program provides students with intensive academic instruction in Spanish and English. The goal for these students is to be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in both languages by being immersed in Spanish language learning in Kindergarten and Grade 1 and gradually increasing English instruction in Grade 2.

February-March 31, 2023: Language Assessments for the Dos en Uno Program.

Current CSDNB Students interested in Applying
Both DiLoreto Lottery applications are published and available in PowerSchool Parent Portal forms section for all existing students who are attending our elementary and middle Schools (except DiLoreto), and who will be in grades K-8 next school year.
To access the forms section of your PowerSchool Parent Portal, click the FORMS Icon on the left side Navigation. All forms available for a particular student will load. If you have any questions regarding the programming at DiLoreto, please email us at diloretoduallanguage@csdnb.org

New Student Registration (For students not currently enrolled in CSDNB)
Students who are not yet registered in the school district will be able to apply for this lottery through the new student registration process.
