SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH SERVICES

Several of our schools offer on-site medical services free of charge to all New Britain students and their families provided by our partnership with Community Health Center at our school based health centers (SBHC). All schools offer behavioral health services through our school based health centers (SBHC) with health services provided by our partnership with Klingberg Family Centers.

Each SBHC is staffed by licensed medical providers such as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), licensed clinical social workers (LCSW), and Dental Hygienists. The medical portion of the SBHC offers services such as physical exams, immunizations, and illness/injury visits. The APRN can treat most illnesses and can prescribe medication if needed and will refer a student to a specialist or another medical provider if necessary. The current locations offering full medical services are Pulaski Middle School, New Britain High School, Gaffney Elementary School, Smalley Academy and Roosevelt Middle School.

Parents/Guardians must enroll their student with the SBHC to receive medical, dental or counseling services. Enrollment can be completed at any of the SBHC sites once an appointment is made.

There is no cost to access these services and they are available to all family members of children enrolled at CSDNB schools. If you do not have health insurance, or are unsure of your insurance status please visit Husky Health to enroll in the state funded health insurance program :
