ADULT EDUCATION | ESL AND CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM
New Britain Adult Education offers beginner, intermediate and advanced English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. These courses will cover listening, speaking, writing, reading and computer skills. Morning and evening class are offered Monday - Thursday based on placement scores.
A Student must be at least 17-years-old, a New Britain resident and no longer registered in school to apply. A parent/guardian signature is required on the application and must be present during the orientation process for students who are 17-years-old. Please bring proof of residence (rental lease, utility bill etc.) along with a valid photo ID.
This course is designed to help prepare students to pass the U.S. Citizenship interview and become an American Citizen. Students learn about the naturalization process, American history, civics, government, and develop skills and strategies to pass the interview section of the Immigration and Naturalization Service test. The ability to understand, read, speak, and write English is a requirement.
The class will meet six weeks at New Britain High School & at 183 Steele Street. Registration for Citizenship will start in February 2019. Call for more information (860) 229 - 6106
