ADULT EDUCATION | GED AND ADULT BASIC EDUCATION
The New Britain Adult Education GED Program offers Adult Basic Education (ABE) for learners who need extra practice and GED classes for learners who have more experience in the subject areas. A level is determined by a placement test that every student takes upon registering. Students will receive instruction in language arts, math, social studies and science enhanced through use of computer technology and academic websites.
• Be a New Britain resident. (Please bring one of the following as proof of residence; rental lease, utility bill, etc. along with a valid photo ID)
• Be officially withdrawn from day school
• 17 year-old students must have a parent/ guardian present for initial registration (A parent/ guardian signature on the application is required for all students 17 years of age)
• Withdrawal forms (only applicable if enrolling in a High School Completion Program: CDP, NEDP, GED)
• Official Transcripts (only applicable if enrolling in a High School Completion Program: CDP, NEDP, GED)
• Complete registration forms
• Take a placement test
• Participate in an Orientation Session (only applicable if enrolling in a High School Completion Program: CDP, NEDP, GED)
