Welcoming New School Leaders

The Consolidated School District of New Britain is proud to welcome two new leaders following the November 3, 2025 Board of Education meeting.

Tashia Bernadel has been appointed Assistant Principal at Chamberlain Elementary School. She brings more than 15 years of experience in Catholic, public, and charter schools and most recently served as a School Administrator at Elm City College Prep in New Haven. Ms. Bernadel has a strong background in literacy, MTSS implementation, teacher coaching, and building inclusive, family-centered school cultures. She is bilingual and committed to academic excellence, equity, and strengthening community partnerships.

Salvador “Sal” Escobales has been appointed Associate Principal at New Britain High School. Mr. Escobales has a long history of service in CSDNB as a science teacher, Interim Associate Principal at DiLoreto, Recruitment and Placement Specialist, and President of the New Britain Federation of Teachers. He most recently served as Associate Principal at Manchester High School’s STEM Academy. He is known for his equity-centered leadership, restorative practices, strong relationships with students and staff, and his advocacy for educator diversity and “Grow Your Own” pathways.
