Preschool Flu Vaccine Requirement: December 31 Deadline

As we enter flu season, we want to remind families of an important immunization requirement for preschool students.

Connecticut state law requires children ages 24–59 months enrolled in preschool to receive their annual flu vaccine by December 31. We encourage families to make an appointment early and avoid waiting until the deadline.

For your convenience, eligible students can receive their flu vaccine through our School-Based Health Care (SBHC) clinics. Families must enroll their child in SBHC services before an appointment can be scheduled.

If your child has already received their flu vaccine, please make sure your child’s school has an updated immunization record on file.
