A Message from the Board of Education
"Schools hold the future inside. It is the responsibility of the Consolidated School District of New Britain to help build a future for every student. For one hundred and twenty-eight years, the school district has met, and continues to meet, this responsibility.
More opportunities than ever before are available for students. The number of after school and summer programs continues to grow. Schools have implemented restructuring projects to better meet the needs of a diverse student population. An early literacy program gives a second opportunity to young students struggling to read. New pre-school programs extend learning to 3 and 4 year olds.
Quality instruction and student achievement are important in every classroom and every school. Most graduates pursue further education and many attend prestigious colleges and universities. Graduates received well over a million dollars in scholarships. By requiring community service and through character building programs, graduates attain the skills and attitudes necessary to build productive lives beyond high school.
New Britain's students have the opportunity to build their futures by applying the quality education they receive in our schools."
